I'm right on the edge of the third trimester of pregnancy now. Some sites say I'm already into it but others say 28 weeks is the changeover. I read online that at 26 weeks along my baby is as tall as an English hothouse cucumber and weighs about 1 2/3 pounds. (Length: 14 inches, head to heel.)
This baby is super active with her kicking. I find it so hard to believe those stories about not even realizing you are pregnant. What else is kicking your stomach from the inside out? You can see it visibly shaking, even through clothes.
I was feeling like my stomach was sticking way out lately because of a number of unsolicited comments by people who don't even know me. I went back and read a journal entry (too busy to write one this time!) I had kept from my first pregnancy and .... surprise. I was actually 13 pounds heavier at this time during her pregnancy than I am at the same point in this one.
I have the gestational diabetes test coming up on Monday which I failed the first time last time. You drink an orange soda looking bottle all at once and have your blood checked to see if you're showing signs of diabetes in pregnancy. The poking and prodding gets worse from here out as I recall.
Otherwise, I feel good and haven't been stumbling or dropping things yet.. seems like I lost my coordination toward the end I remember. It is getting harder to carry my 14-month-old over my belly and up the stairs to bed. I have a feeling I will be doing less of that in the coming weeks. I've been religiously using my belly oil and trying to eat more, smaller meals to avoid the heartburn.
Ah, another good baby kick.. she's awake!
